Episode highlights:
0:00 – Introduction & Serge's background at Tommy John
2:45 – From skeptical developer to Noibu power user
6:10 – Why ecommerce teams are consolidating their tool stacks
10:30 – The hidden cost of conflicting data across tools
14:15 – How Noibu evolved from error alerts to AI-powered diagnostics
Serge’s bottom line: More tools don’t mean better outcomes. If your stack is fragmented and your data conflicts, your team spends more time debating numbers than driving impact. Consolidate where it matters, prioritize a single source of truth, and focus on tools that align your teams—not divide them.

Kailin Noivo: Today we have a very different episode with Serge from Tommy John. Serge is another Noibu OG, first interacted with us in 2020 during the COVID era...
Kailin Noivo: Welcome to another episode of the Ecommerce Toolbox – Expert's Perspective. Today we have a little bit of a different episode...
Serge Moreau: Well, thanks Kailin.
Kailin Noivo: Serge, we first met probably 2021... maybe talk to us a bit about your career path.
Serge Moreau: In 2021, my role was quite different. I was a developer working at Tommy John, mostly focused on marketing tasks and implementation of tags...
Serge Moreau: At first, I was skeptical about Noibu. I would try to replicate errors and couldn’t always see them. But working with your team helped shift my thinking...
Serge Moreau: Over time, I focused more on integrations and broader technology strategy, and now I lead the overall technology direction at Tommy John.
Kailin Noivo: There’s been a shift from many tools to consolidation. Talk to us about that mindset.
Serge Moreau: Before, it was “can I get this tool?” Now it’s “does this tool justify its cost?” We look for tools that can cover 70–80% of multiple use cases instead of having many niche tools.
Serge Moreau: A big issue is conflicting data. Different tools tell different stories, and teams waste time debating instead of acting.
Serge Moreau: If everyone works from one tool, you align the business and eliminate that noise.
Kailin Noivo: Talk to me about how Noibu evolved from your perspective.
Serge Moreau: Initially it was just “here’s an error, go fix it.” Now it helps identify root causes, suggests fixes, and prioritizes issues based on revenue impact.
Serge Moreau: The AI guidance reduces development and QA time significantly.
Serge Moreau: It’s also improved in quantifying revenue impact, which helps with prioritization.
Kailin Noivo: How does it fit into performance monitoring and QA?
Serge Moreau: We replaced some tools like Synthetics and rely on Noibu alongside analytics. It’s part of our QA and regression testing process.
Serge Moreau: We use it to validate releases, monitor regressions, and tie issues back to specific deployments.
Serge Moreau: Future-wise, accessibility monitoring is something we’d love to see more of.
Kailin Noivo: What trends are you seeing for 2026?
Serge Moreau: Data accuracy is huge. AI is a major focus. Also tariffs, system integrations, and maximizing ROI from existing tools.
Serge Moreau: Many companies are only using 20–30% of their tools’ capabilities. There’s a big push to optimize and consolidate.
Kailin Noivo: Thanks so much for joining, Serge.
Serge Moreau: Thank you, appreciate it.
