Ecommerce monitoring is the practice of continuously measuring your site's technical health, performance, and customer experience to detect issues that block conversions before they reach revenue. The five metrics below are the ones that translate site behaviour into business outcomes — not raw error counts, not uptime percentages, but the signals that connect what's happening on your site to what's happening to your top line.

1. Revenue at risk from open issues
What it is: The total annualized dollar value of conversions currently being lost to unresolved errors, performance regressions, and friction points on your site. Calculated as sessions affected × conversion delta × AOV × time period, summed across every open issue.
Why it matters: Bug count tells you activity. Revenue at risk tells you exposure. A Head of Ecommerce can defend a roadmap with the second number — not the first.
How to measure it: Each issue needs four data points: how many sessions encountered it, how those sessions converted vs. baseline, the average order value at the affected funnel stage, and the time period you're annualizing across.
