Can Noibu Agents Run If Your Company Only Allows Microsoft Copilot?
Yes. Noibu works in Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork through a plugin, with a Copilot Chat fallback in Teams when Cowork is unavailable, so a Copilot-only company does not need Claude. Each user signs in with their own Noibu credentials, and an admin must enable paid Copilot licenses, usage-based billing and custom app upload.
TL;DR
- Noibu runs in Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork through a plugin your team uploads and shares.
- Copilot Chat is the fallback through a separate Noibu agent in Teams, without skills.
- Admins need to enable paid Copilot licenses, usage-based billing and custom app upload.
- Each person signs in with their own Noibu login, limited to the domains their permissions allow.
Some companies approve one AI tool and block the rest. If Microsoft Copilot is that tool, the question from IT and from the ecommerce team is the same: can the Noibu agents run there, or do they require a different assistant.
This post covers what works in a Copilot-only environment, what an administrator has to turn on, and the limits to plan for.
Does Noibu work with Microsoft Copilot?
Yes. Noibu's AI agents work in the Noibu console and in the AI tools teams already use, and Microsoft Copilot is one of them. According to Noibu's help center, the Noibu plugin supports Microsoft Copilot Cowork and Microsoft Copilot Chat, with a separate install guide for each, alongside Claude Cowork and OpenAI Codex.
There are two routes inside Copilot, and they differ in what you can do.
The two Microsoft Copilot routes
Copilot Cowork (preferred)
How it is installed
One person uploads the Noibu package in Cowork and shares it with specific users
How you use it
Run /setup-noibu, connect, then ask questions or run skills such as /store-pulse or /checkout-analysis
Skills
Available
Session replay
Data and links to the Noibu console
Licensing
Paid Microsoft 365 Copilot license per user
Copilot Chat (fallback)
How it is installed
Each user installs a separate Noibu agent in Teams
How you use it
Invoke the agent with @Noibu
Skills
Not available
Session replay
A summary and a link to the console
Licensing
Paid Copilot seat and custom app upload
What does an administrator need to turn on?
Noibu's setup guide for Copilot lists the prerequisites. A short list for your IT team follows.
- A paid Microsoft 365 Copilot license for each user. The guide states that free Copilot Chat does not run Cowork plugins.
- Usage-based billing and Cowork access. A Global or Billing administrator enables usage-based billing (Copilot Credits) at the tenant level and makes Cowork discoverable to end users.
- Custom app upload. This must be set to on in the Teams admin center, which can take up to 24 hours to apply.
- Noibu's script on your website, so session and page data exists when users start asking questions.
Each user also needs their own Noibu account, using email and password or Google single sign-on. Access follows that person's Noibu permissions, so people only see the domains they are allowed to see.
What can you do with Noibu inside Microsoft Copilot?
Users can ask plain-language questions about sessions, conversion rates, page speed, top pages, page journeys, releases and errors for a domain, or run Noibu skills for work like store health checks and checkout analysis. When GitHub or another CI/CD tool is connected, the AI tool can move from diagnosis toward a pull request for review, and Noibu publishes a connection guide for Microsoft 365 Copilot. As with every Noibu agent, nothing ships until a person approves it.
Which agent work you do depends on the question. The Bug Resolution Agent traces errors toward the code, the Performance Agent works from real shopper speed data, and the CRO Agent looks at underperforming product pages.
What are the limits in a Copilot-only setup?
Noibu's guide is clear that not every skill or capability is available in every AI tool. In Copilot Cowork, Noibu's interactive visualizations do not render inline; the tool returns the underlying data with links to the Noibu console. Page visit visualizations are unavailable in both modes, and Copilot Chat cannot run skills. Plugin updates take about 10 minutes to sync and need a new task, and Teams can cache apps for up to 30 minutes.
If you also use other Microsoft surfaces, such as Copilot Studio, check Noibu's current documentation with your Noibu team before planning around them, because the guide covers Cowork and Copilot Chat. Frequently asked questions
Can we use Noibu if our company only allows Microsoft Copilot?
Yes. Noibu works in Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork through a plugin, with a Copilot Chat fallback in Teams. You do not need Claude to use Noibu in a Copilot-only environment.
Do we need a paid Microsoft Copilot license to use Noibu?
Yes. Each user needs a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Noibu's guide states that free Copilot Chat does not run Cowork plugins.
What is the difference between Copilot Cowork and Copilot Chat for Noibu?
Cowork runs the Noibu plugin with skills and plain-language questions. Copilot Chat uses a separate Noibu agent in Teams that you invoke with @Noibu, and it cannot run skills.

Can the agents make changes to our store through Copilot?
The agents find issues and prepare changes, such as a pull request when GitHub is connected, and nothing ships until a person approves it.
What should you do next?
Share Noibu's Copilot setup guide with your Microsoft administrator, confirm the license, billing and custom app settings, and have one person upload the plugin in Cowork. Before you commit, the free website audit from Noibu lets your team see what the agents find on your store. Your Noibu team can confirm any Copilot detail not covered in the guide.
