How to Connect Noibu to GitHub Copilot in VS Code
To connect Noibu to GitHub Copilot in VS Code, open Copilot Chat in Agent mode, paste the Noibu setup prompt, give your site's domain, then start the Noibu server and sign in. After that, type /noibu followed by your question. Copilot Business and Enterprise need an admin to enable MCP servers first.
If your team already works in VS Code with GitHub Copilot, you can bring your Noibu data into the same chat. Setup is one prompt and one sign-in. These steps follow Noibu's help documentation.
- You need VS Code with GitHub Copilot Chat, a Noibu login, and your site's domain as configured in Noibu.
- Copilot Business or Enterprise: an org admin must turn on the MCP servers in Copilot policy.
- Run the setup prompt in Agent mode, then Start the server and sign in.
- Use /noibu followed by your question. Agent mode only.
What do you need before you start?
You need VS Code with the GitHub Copilot Chat extension installed and signed in, a Noibu login, and your site's domain as it is configured in Noibu, such as www.example.com. On Copilot Business or Enterprise, your GitHub org admin must turn on the MCP servers in Copilot policy, which is off by default. If you still have both the older Copilot and Copilot Chat extensions, update VS Code and Copilot Chat first.
Step 1: Run the setup prompt
Open your project folder, open Copilot Chat, and set the mode to Agent. Copy the contents of the Noibu GitHub Copilot setup prompt from Noibu's help article, paste it into the chat and send it. When Copilot asks, give your domain and choose whether Noibu applies to this repo only or to every workspace. Copilot adds the Noibu connection, saves your site details, adds a /noibu prompt and enables the VS Code settings it needs. It asks before changing anything that already exists, so approve file edits and terminal commands when prompted.
Step 2: Start the server and sign in
Click Start on the Noibu server, sign in to Noibu in the browser window that opens, then reply done in the chat. Each teammate signs in with their own Noibu login.
What can you ask once it is connected?
In Agent mode, type /noibu with a question such as which errors are the top priority this week, which pages load slowest on mobile, or how conversion changed over the last 30 days. If you chose this repo only, you can ask in plain language without /noibu. The same Noibu data powers the Bug Resolution Agent and CRO Agent workflows, and our guide on connecting analytics to Claude covers the Claude version.
Limits to know about
Noibu tools run only in Agent mode, not Ask or Edit. Claude-specific features such as guided workflows like /tech-diagnosis and in-chat session replays do not run in Copilot, so describe what you need in plain language or use /noibu. If you prefer, you can skip the setup prompt and add the server manually from the Command Palette using MCP: Add Server and the HTTP address in the help article.
